Creek - Complete Recordings
Up late, at around 7 or so and to work immediately for, this afternoon, Creek buddy Stu Cobley would be coming round for us to work on putting our just over nine year old album onto the world wide web...
The long term aim though, is to upload as much as possible...
Masters were retrieved from the archives and ripped to the hard drive in preparation...
All ripping was successfully completed before Stu's arrival - along with a foray outside to seek out some living-room furniture, obtain a couple of new shirts and, indeed, a jacket...
Home and back to Creeking...
Creek started in 1995 or 1996 as a duo of me and Stu, joining forces to record Stu's guitar based songs...
Two years later, we'd somehow morphed into an electronic improvisational quartet...
Between 1997 and 1999, Stu, me, Count Brodski and webmeister extraordinaire Craig Sutherland recorded over twenty sessions of mainly improvised electronic music...
These were sold on cassette via Reptile Records...
Then, nothing for two and a half years and then, we took another two years after reconvening to actually record an album...
And here I am nine years later uploading it to the Creek bandcamp page...
To say I needed a haircut would be an understatement...
Pics here courtesy Stu, who arrived just after Anne left to watch Hearts lose yet again (1-0 to Motherwell while Queens beat Brodski's Alloa 3-1 in Dumfries)...
He brought with him some tasty doughnuts...
And the work began in earnest...
Stu though, insisted on documenting my too long hair...
...much to an old codger's delight...
...not to mention my other specs...
...and creating possible future Creek covers...
...until I grabbed the camera and turned it on him...
..which he didn't like too much...
Luckily, Meg the Black Cat was here to mediate...
Stu left before anything was uploaded to our new page - problems which turned out to be to do with my anti-virus software blocking the operation...
On Anne's return, we set our mind to curry...
...which required some rich and creamy coconut milk of course...
Yum...
Not bad at all - the late addition of tomatoes a master stroke by the recipe writer...
Then, Anne did some executive producing...
...followed by the next two very enjoyable episodes of "The Bridge", during which even Meg's toy mouse...
...could not lure her from the fire...
Then, back to work and, just after midnight, the Creek album was finally "out there"...
...as Anne recorded, as Stu had done earlier, the urgent need of a haircut re your correspondent's bonce...
To think I once had to pay for haircuts...
Lights out...
Highlight of the Day : Working with Stu the Creek man...
