Happy New Year!

Up just before six and, breaking with convention, not listening to Alice Cooper's Billion Dollar Babies...

I continued to try and bring the various podcasts I've been posting up (daily playlists for December plus 10 podasts featuring 10 of my "acquisitions of the year") up to date...

Meg the Black Cat was helping - although, in reality I think she may just have been trying to get me to give her some food...

Eventually, she settled down...

Her patch seems to be taking an age to grow back this time...

I've decided to abandon the daily playlist project (quelle surprise!) but am planning maybe a weekly catch up, presenting the best tracks I've been listening to in the previous seven days...

We'll see - like many of the things I do, it's all a bit pointless if no-one is listening...

The New Year's Day staple of the concert from Vienna entertained for ninety minutes and then, with Meg conked out in front of the fire...

...we headed to brother in law Keith and Maureen's place for a New Year's Day get together with chums Rod and Ishbel and step niece Abby...

We'd taken Anne's mum along too - good food, good drink, good company - including some rounds of the game "Who on Earth?" where, in order to determine your designated by chance identity as quickly as possible, you have to ask your assembled cohorts questions which they can only answer "yes" or "no"...

Good fun...

Later on we were joined by Rod and Ishbel's son Gary and nephew Craig and girlfriend Arianne...

The Exec Producer reckoned I may have been partaking of a little too much of the old Vino Rosso...

Cheeky monkey!

Home later than expected after an enjoyable first day of the year...

Highlight of the day : Family get together...
