A trip to Dublin today - a one nighter cut down from two as Anne and I are off to London first thing Friday morning...
Out into the dark...
To the airport around midday...
A packed plane...
Weather looking good upon arrival...
Taxi into town...
...to The temple bar Hotel, slap bang in the centre...
Check in with chum Spike...
...and out for a look around the environs...
...picking up a copy of James Joyce's "Ulysses", which I predict I will never read - but seemed a suitable souvenir...
Out for a tasty Chinese meal...
...and some dancing in the bar next door to the Hotel to some local musicians' hellish folk songs...
The whirling legs above belong to chum Gavin, with whom I spent the remainder of the evening relaxing and chatting in the Hotel - the decision having been taken after drinks at Edinburgh airport, drinks on the plane, drinks at Dublin airport, drinks in the hotel bar, drinks at the Chinese and drinks in the bar next door...
In retrospect, a good decision...
In contrast, chum JY Johnny had gone for it big style - this around 2am...
...as the stragglers started to arrive back, including line-dancer Bernardo...
To bed around 2:10 am...
...only to be awoken by room-mate Luke arriving back at 3:30 and proceeding to snore his head off for the remainder of the night...
Lights out, pointlessly...
Highlight of the day : A trip to Eire...
