A very enjoyable hook up...

Playlist
Cloudland Blue Quartet - New Pieces
Jackie McLean - Destination Out
Joe Henderson - Page One
Miles Davis - Seven Steps to Heaven
Weber - Symphonies 1 & 2

Up super early while Anne slept...

Drove to Amble in hope of some sunrise pics but foiled by the cloud cover...

Back home, musicking in the living room...

The view from the window...

Breakfast...

...and out...

..and up to the beach...

Cold and windy...

Looking south...

East...

North...

It seems a house must have fallen into the sea at some point....

The harbour at Amble in the distance...

...under interesting skies...

Very...

...cold...

...indeed...

Good debris...

...including this chanced upon stone...

..which was partaken of...

Back to the car...

...and south to Newcastle...

But first, a stop off in Whitley Bay,having texted chum Sid Smith...

By the sight of the lighthouse...

...and the tankers offshore...

...a rendezvous at The Rendezvous...

Which was packed when we arrived but after a couple of hours, only we and a few unpictured others remained...

After some very interesting chat, mainly re the music business, Sid took us outside for a short bracing walk, pointing out the direction of his home...

Like me, Sid has recently taken to much walking and is looking good in relation to that, pictured here at "the end of the world" with Anne...

Farewells said, we headed off to Newcastle, parking near St James's Park...

Some aimless wandering ensued with some shopping being undertaken - several items joining the fray, including a 3CD set of rather outlandish free jazz...

And off back up "home"...

...where the stone was looking good...

..and, in deference to Anne's ears, the new jazz was not sampled...

To the Mason's Arms for tea - and the largest (so big we couldn't get a picture) cod fillets ever were enjoyed...

Out into the night....

...and up to the house...

Another good day...

Highlight of the Day : Very enjoyable hook up...
