Up at three, then 5:30, unable to sleep...
Not sure if it was the lurgi or the gin...
By 8 I was right as rain - if a little tired - and ready to work on the knocking into shape of the recordings from Thursday evening...
We have no further rehearsals planned so these will act as touchstones for the three Santas in the run up to the gig...
Despite all my unforced errors, we played pretty well...
I was still working mid afternoon when Jamie called round...
In discussions with the Exec Producer, we were executively produced into dropping a few songs to shorten the overall playing time...
We will still play three sets but two of them will not be quite so chock full of singalonga-models scenarios as before...
But weaknesses have been removed...
In the evening, with QoS having regained their 9 point lead over Alloa by beating Brechin 1-0 with arch rivals Stranraer coming out 3-2 victors over Brodski's faves, Anne was off into town for a celebratory Xmas meal at Fishers, leaving your correspondent and Meg the Black Cat to their own devices...
Unfortunately, Meg spent around two hours sitting in the cold on the back step after I forgot I'd let her out (at her own instigation I might add by way of some kind of mitigation) and watched a "Dr Who" Xmas special from a couple of years back and "Terminator", before wondering where my wee chum was...
Suffice to say, upon being readmitted to the house, our feline friend had a bit of a story to tell...
A pick up later on to bring Anne home for "Merlin" and "Match of the Day"...
A day spent at home...
Highlight of the day : A visit from Jamie
