Cloudland Blue Quartet – Souvenir XVIII : Splinterheart Live Set
Cage – Music for Prepared Piano
Creek - 2010
Up late of course, having gotten to bed at 4 am...
First job of the day was to remix the Souvenir CD to get rid of the phasing caused in places by the addition of the extra “live” guitar...
Worked nicely...
Then, I must say I wasted an inordinate amount of time on this 30 minute film I’ve been working on...
With the equipment I have, I’m finding it’s impossible to actually create a DVD with a soundtrack on it so; once again, I’m back to silent, with the music played independently...
I even tried to choose pictures to illustrate the lyrics but I think I prefer the dadaist approach...
Spent a good part of the day too, either rehearsing the live set or working to no avail on ideas for the new Creek project...
We have around 35 minutes of material...
Switching that off, I enjoyed the music of John Cage as I trawled through six years of photos choosing, in the end, around 200 which will now be in the final (I hope final – and I hope it works too) version of the film...
Two sessions of picture picking sandwiched an enjoyable family tea for next week's birthday girls, Jane and Maureen...
...and “Inspector George Gently”...
Ended the day finalising the order of the pictures and adding a caption for each song in the set...
I’ll finalise and burn it tomorrow as right now, I’m all filmed out...
Highlight of the Day : respite provided by Mr Cage...
