Earlier this week, I researched a band of whose CDs, a couple are currently available in FOPP for £3 - a duo called Beach House...

I first noted them subconciously on a recent visit to Glasgow, figuring I'd probably like them since they are on the Bella Union label - like other favourites The Czars, The Devics and John Grant...

The reviews I read online seemed to describe music to my liking so, today, I popped along and partook...

Nice...

But I also noted they had "Mephisto", Istvan Szabo's Oscar winning film from 1981 starring Klaus-Maria Brandauer and that it too was on offer for a mere £3...

Anne and I saw this when it was released and I remember it striking us as being a quite excellent film...

So this too made its way into my collection...

Finally, at the counter was a stack of Box Sets containing all four series of late 80's/early 90's classic comedy sketch show "Absolutely" for a mere tenner...

Nabbed...

Caught in the rain on the way home, rain which produced a double rainbow...

Pasta for tea cooked by yours truly, as Anne was spending the day in Glasgow with sister-in-law Jane...

While I waited on the water heating to do the dishes thereafter, I listened to the set list for the upcoming gig whilst watching the proposed 30 minute accompanying film...

Suffice to say, I fell asleep...

With dishes done (to the sounds of Beach House), I was called into Taxi duty to pick up the two shoppers from Haymarket and deliver them home...

Later, brought this up to date whilst enjoying the initial demos for a brand new Creek album...

At present there are four pieces, totalling around thirty minutes worth of material, created by Craig Sutherland and awaiting input from Mr CBQ, Cobblers and, possibly, Count Brodski...

Tasty...

A further track is underway...

Six years between albums isn't too long is it?

Rounded off the night listening to the soundtrack from the three series of German serial "Heimat", having been reminded of it by the music enjoyed on Monday night with Dr Prog...

One of Monday's composers, Wolfgang Rihm contributed a couple of pieces to the films...

Far out...

And lights out...

Highlight of the Day : Brand New Creek
