Much better sleep last night and, having taken heed of my lack of appreciation of yesterday morning's antics, today the kids were already outside playing when Anne and I finally surfaced around 10 am...

After breakfast, as Jorg had to return to the party venue one last time, in order to sort it all out and put it back to its pre-party state, Anne and I decided to climb up the rocks to the Felsburg above Felsberg...

From where we enjoyed this lovely view of the town...

Jorg's house is just to the right of the parking area just right of centre in the pic...

As we looked out over the hill, we saw Xenia and Teja had followed us up...

A big misunderstanding then took place...

We came down one side of the hill with the kids, while Jorg, who had returned early from his chores, and Yvonne were climbing the other side, having told Ansem to tell us where they were if we returned first...

Of course Ansem was busy playing with his friends and forgot to tell us so, not knowing where their parents were, we left the children playing and took a walk around the town...

On our return, Jorg and Yvonne were back and so we all decided to go over to their allotment/garden, where I played footie again with Ansem (he won 10-9)...

...and then endangered all three children's lives by swinging them far to high in a hammock...

All too soon it was time to say goodbye and we set off leaving the happy family behind, with the promise of a visit from Jorg and Ansem in October, though Ansem doesn't know this yet...

On our drive back past Kassel to Dortmund, we stopped off at the lovely wee town of Soest....

While, because of the Ascension Holiday, all the shops were shut, many street cafes were not and we had lunch at one overlooking the main square...

Then on to the airport...

..and on to a packed plane home...

After the usual calamatous delay at baggage collection, a taxi took us back to Crispycat Towers where a CD of an album I bought while living in Felsberg in 1980/81, Geisterfahrer's "Fest der vielen Sinne", was waiting behind the door - unlike the two missing Sparks CDs...

After loading all the pics from the holiday into the computer, we went to Castle Brodski to collect Meg the Black Cat and hear the tales of her stay there...

Back home and good to be in our own bed again, with Meg the Black Cat back at the Towers...

Highlight of the Day : Surprising find of Soest...
