Once more it is December 9 and, while I remember sister Pam every day, today I remember her more than any other really...

12 years gone...

Late this evening, I went through 9 December entries on here from 2011, the day she died, to 9 December 2022...

We used to go out for a family meal on the anniversary...

Now I post a couple of pics on the family Whatsapp...

Time moves on...

After 2022, I went back to 9 December 2010 - I was living with Pam down in Hemel Hempstead and we were waiting on a call from the hospital for her to go in for the operation to remove the tumour from her brain...

Turned out she had a year to live - but we did not know that and we had hope...

There are some things in your diary that you do not enjoy reading back one little bit...

Anyway, as Pam would say, "get on with it"...

So, up just before 7...

Scene...

Finished yesterday's ripping...

Unpictured porridge, banana and honey breakfast, then, Anne putting up the lights...

This, an early version, later "remastered" to blue...

Some painting this morning from Anne too...

Looking good!

But what was I doing?

Why was I listening to "Rolling in the Deep"?

Well, overnight, I'd had the idea that, following on from the Bowie/Roxy/Velvets/Eno sets, the band might do another themed show, comprising sets of popular material by Adele/Sheeran/Swift/Weeknd - some of the most listened to artists of recent times...

Accordingly, I created a 40 song playlist, with a view to sourcing chords and lyrics and learning the songs (many of which I have never heard in my puff - which will make it difficult to learn them)...

As you can see from the pic below, re "Today's New Music", sometimes an idea can lead to owning things you really didn't want to own...

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Ed Sheeran (of course my Ed Sheeran based CBQ song album is due next year)...

Lunch, accompanied by a celebrity "Impossible" from 2019, with Susan Calman winning £10,000 for the cancer charity her oncologist dad set up, was home made soup, with the tasty masterstroke of leftover brussel sprouts...

Although this did mean the Trumpets of Satan were sounding for the rest of the day...

In the afternoon, Anne headed to her mum's for a visit and they listened to the Hearts game on the radio - beaten 2-1 in Aberdeen by a 92nd minute goal after having been ahead...

In Montrose, Queens were 4-0 up at half time...

Another 92nd minute goal meant losing their "clean sheet", having not added to their first half tally and meaning 4-1 was the final score...

Hopefully the start of something but, in reality, I doubt it...

We'll see...

I put together and uploaded this week's podcast, then, listened back (I now use Audacity rather than Virtual DJ to produce them, so I no longer listen while creating)...

Then, listening to new music and reading about/looking at art...

...as I revealed my top LPs of 2023 and the discoveries of the year...

I ended up with around 560 contenders (still growing by the day) and almost 300 albums from artists who are new to me this year (also still growing by the day)...

This evening, "Dr Who" and steak pie...

"Dr Who"? Despite being not too bad, sadly, it continues to fall far short of what it could be and continues to continually disappoint...

The pie though? Excellent!!

More new music listening while Anne watched "Strictly" then, headphones off for "Have I Got News For You"...

Back to the machines at 10 or so...

...where even more new music was discovered...

The torture never stops...

To bed with "Zeit" by Tangerine Dream, sounding better than it ever has...

Lowlight of the Day: Pam's Unwanted Anniversary...
