Up at seven, as was Anne...

The Samsung Music Machine had run down overnight somehow...

...but the beast was about its business...

...uploading the CBQ compilation which will be let loose on Xmas Eve this year I think...

Breakfast, then Anne was off to the shops for both us and her mum...

Meanwhile, I took a couple of hours to edit down yesterday's session with Paul from around 2 hours to around an hour - hopefully this exercise will bear fruit...

Tracks sent to him to also listen back...

Anne home - loads of stuff, much for Xmas...

Lunch concocted from rice, soup and old peppers and coriander from the fridge - despite how that sounds - and how it looks - it was, as I like to say, tasty...

In the afternoon, post "Vigil", some looking back at 1974 and the LPs which, as of January, will have been with me for an unbelievable 50 years...

There are 74 here - apt for 1974 - but, of those, only 39 were bought (or acquired via a record swap) plus "Close to the Edge" was received as an Xmas present from sister Sheila...

The rest?  Taped off of friends like Count Brodski and Dood Hamilton, or, indeed, the radio...

One item I'd always believed to have bought in 1974 didn't appear in my diary and, on checking Discogs I noted it wasn't released until 1976...

This 6 LP box set of rock'n'roll from Readers' Digest...

...which I no longer own and only had a cobbled together facsimile with loads of tracks missing or the wrong versions or even the wrong artists on my iTunes - so I set about gathering in tracks to try and completely recreate it...

This trawling of the internet stretched on into the early evening as Anne headed for Pilates leaving me in charge of the Baked Potato prep - well the microwaving part - I couldn't remember how to turn on the oven...

I also did some researched on our August trip to Germany...

Berlin plus Jorg & Manu's in Gensungen-Felsberg...

On "University Challenge" an alumni Xmas show and we managed 145 - much better than recent efforts...

Were the questions easier?  Well, no, absolutely not...

More "Vigil" at 9...

Then, to booking flights and hotels - including our second Berlin session of the trip at our fave Prenzlauer Berg Hotel......

A two week stay in the Fatherland all told - fly to Berlin for a few days, to Jorg's for a few days, back to Berlin for a few days...

Much more expensive than we'd have thought but should be well worth it...

Car hire still to be finalised...

With all that, to bed at almost 1am...

Good day...

Highlight of the Day: Booking a trip...
