Up at six with a reasonably busy day ahead...

Did I mention Xmas was coming...

The room reflected in New York, where bassist/drummer Keith will be heading tomorrow for his 65th on the 14th..

Did I mention Xmas was coming...

Coffee time...

...then, back to the machines...

Sent the piece I did the other day re his young friend to keyboardist Paul...

Most likely not his cup of tea...

Writing this up and downloading some new music, then, setting up the room for today's Capital Models session with Johnny B...

I was asked for a picture of a bridge...

So...

Listening to Arriaga etc while setting up and, then, Eddie Jobson, influenced by an interview on Twitter from 1983 re his having joined the then revamped Yes...

His tenure was extremely short...

Sent this pic of the CD to Jorg, noting from the receipt that I bought it in Scheibenbeisser in Kassel on 27 June 2015...

...which was, coincidentally, re the Yes related story above, the day Chris Squire died...

Jorg advised he has just finished work now for the Xmas/New Year break but is under the weather - I wished him to get well soon...

 I awaited John's arrival at 11...

He arrived, unpictured, right on time and, pre the session, we enjoyed bacon rolls, coffee and chat with Anne...

Then, upstairs and to work...

We honed 14 songs from the Bowie/Roxy/Velvets/Eno set over a coupe of hours...

Very worthwhile...

Next Sunday, a similar session round at Paul's is in the diary...

As John headed off, nephew Ali, niece in law Julie and grand-nephew Harris arrived, on their way to see Santa, who had landed for the day near Livingston...

Harris was super excited...

...and was intrigued by the equipment in the back room...

He was soon all headphoned up and singing Xmas songs...

Later Julie posted a wee film of him singing along with a 1 second clip of a screech - which I, of course, turned into a 7 minute ambient piece for posterity - no doubt it'll be on my Hogmanay end of year round up and will be young Harris's first ever musical credit...

Following in his father's and uncle's footsteps...

Ali was round to add a tap to the set up under the sink, to avoid possible frozen pipe scenarios re the water outlet to the garden...

Done, dusted and off they went to the Grotto...

This, the scene later...

Back at Crispycat Towers, editing the session and getting the MP3s and new notes over to John..

Then, as Anne cooked a tasty pasta tea...

...did I mention Xmas was coming...

Yum...

Tea was accompanied by "Strictly The Results" and Annabel Croft went out, leaving Ellie, Layton and Bobby in the final next week...

Not Layton's fault but, as an already reasonably accomplished dancer, he really ought not to have been invited on the show and Annabel should have joined the other two in the final, which would then have shown how three people, who had never danced before, can progress over the course of just three months...

Anyway, not to worry...

It's only entertainment...

Later, the takedown...

10 minutes to go from this...

...to this (set up took 12 minutes)...

Listening to new things on the cans downstairs with "Match of the Day 2" before heading to bed with Roxy Music...

Lights out...

Highlight of the Day : A visit from an excited relation...
