Round and round...

Playlist
Various - Cloudland Blue Eclectic Selections 2021 & 2022

Up late...

...after a night of not very much sleep...

Wordle and Quordle for Anne...

She was hoping she would not catch what I have...

Breakfast was good...

Then, a walk over the bridge to Chester and, today, we were off round the City Walls...

...starting at the bell tower...

...then under the East Gate Clock...

...with its views of Fore Gate Street...

Onwards...

...towards the river...

This lion on a concrete car park was noted...

We could hear shouting coming from the Roman Garden...

On investigation...

...we discovered schoolchildren being put through their paces by a centurion...

Off they went...

Sin, Sin, Dex, Sin, Dex...

It was raining again...

...as we arrived at the river...

...and walked again towards the Old Dee Bridge, today from a higher view point...

This was going over it...

Onwards past the castle, which is pretty run down from the reverse view...

As we walked on and crossed the road to a new to us part of the wall, the weather picked up and we approached the race course...

It's the oldest one in the country...

It's on what used to be a river which became silted up...

Apparently, this was once the venue for "violent football" till racing replaced it...

The Mayor who introduced racing was a Mr Gee - hence, to this day, the reference to race horses as the Gee Gees...

Onwards...

..over the Watergate Bridge...

Hard to believe the race course was once one of the busiest harbours in the North West...

We pressed on, passed the Queen's School...

...and the old infirmary...

We were still only half way round...

...as we crossed the railway which was to take us to Liverpool tomorrow...

Towers a plenty...

...and a canal...

Now we were back to where we'd walked by on our afternoon stroll on Monday...

Good views as we looked back the way we'd come...

Me, waving...

Anne, walking...

Then, on the final corner, past a beautiful, huge garden...

...overlooking the canal...

...and with more towers...

..and so, we re-approached the cathedral...

...and, at the bell tower, we'd come full circle...

We came down off the walls and walked past the cathedral...

...and were looking for somewhere to lunch...

We popped into the market...

..and I spotted this for £5 more than I paid on Monday - and someone bought it while we were there...

No books were partaken of...

...but Anne had a nice wrap...

...while I had some of the Roman Cafe's lasagne...

A further walk around town...

...before we popped home for a rest...

Early evening, to Faulkner Street for a couple of drinks in an empty Homebrew Tap bar...

I needed to capture this drink, thrown onto the street by a madman while he drank another bottle of the green stuff which, presumably, was not to his liking...

A second drink...

... then round the the Chinese on Charles Street for another carry out...

Some of the best Kung Po Chicken ever...

...while Anne enjoyed Chicken Satay...

By the end of the day, this was how I felt...

...while this was the photo released by my publicist...

Telly and then bed for another sleepless night....

Highlight of the day : The walls and the Chinese...
