Up late but no shopping trip just yet...

A lovely morning...

...and there were CDs to be ripped...

The Graham Costello is particularly good and I nabbed a few more of his titles this morning...

Hoping to see him in that Glasgow next month...

Twitterchum Andy Long referenced this LP in his "morning all" Tweet - half my Tweets in a day are probably just saying "good morning" to people...

Compiled a playlist of the latest recording to date of each song ever played by Capital Models (except our cover of The Who's "Substitute" which was never recorded back in 1980)...

138 songs all told...

Anne was off out for a long leisurely lunch with chum Gillian so a lift into town was provided before heading out to Loanhead, doing my mum's shop and visiting her for a while...

Hoping to get her out of the house next Sunday for a change...

Back home to more ripping and listening...

The results of the 2011 poll were announced - as usual, my top 5 were nowhere near the top of the "charts" - a reflection of the demographic of the electorate rather than my taste (of course!)...

In two week's time it'll be the top 5 of 1966...

My shout of "what if this made No 1 rather than "Revolver" proved popular...

However, my Top 3 prediction is "Revolver", "Pet Sounds" and "Blonde on Blonde" - bewildering really, when so much top notch jazz was also released that year and is, musically, light years ahead, of the pop stuff...

C'est la vie...

And so, the weekend ended with some listening to Mr Coltrane's far out work....

...which, if you are in the right frame of mind (I was) is absolutely superb...

If you're not?

It's a pile of tuneless shite...

Which is probably what the Beatles' fans think no matter what...

Lights out...

Highlight of the Day : Coltrane...
