Up late...

The sun was streaming in the windows already...

View...

New month...

Accidental dish rack...

The piece of wood...

 ...is looking good...

Like a flag...

Breakfast outside in the sun...

...accompanied by a bee...

To work...

Listening today was mostly new stuff downloaded re looking back at the music of 2000...

Post lunch and a "Breaking Bad", the kids next door had their paddling pools out...

A WhatsApp advised that chum Marta would not be coming back to the UK - she's from Poland, her husband's from France - it was always their goal to return to the continent and Covid has had them speed up their plans for them and their two young daughters...

A thumbs up to the decision...

For no reason - pictures of my records...

LPs and 12"s...

7"s...

Back to WFH...

Outside, a visit from the (or one of the) squirrel(s)...

It spotted me...

This evening, pre tea, we decided to take a drive.  The small, picturesque town of Culross (pronounced Kooross) in Fife was our target...

We arrived just after 6...

These greeted us at the car park...

A walk into the town - more a village really, given there are now fewer than 400 inhabitants...

Some scenes...

This is Culross Palace...

We decided to save our baked potatoes for tomorrow and popped into the Red Lion for tea...

Back out into the sun for a walk around...

Up the hill towards the old abbey...

We decided to climb this steep ladder...

The way down was the stuff of nightmares...

...but we made it...

Up to the church and its churchyard and surroundings...

...and back down the hill...

...past more landmarks...

..and along the back of the palace, behind its "hanging gardens"...

I think the sign above this gate is a reference to the bible, perhaps something from Isiah 18?

Back down into the village...

...and across the park...

...to the railway line which, we think, might service the nearby power station...

We crossed it...

..and I walked out onto the pier (of sorts)...

...while Anne stayed on land...

The views from the end...

Back to the car and home, soundtracked by the hits of Roy Wood, via The Move and Wizzard...

A relax upstairs with some difficult quartets...

Then, downstairs for "Holby City"...

Fang had arrived, had some Dreamies and was now snoozing...

Turned out to be a good day...

Highlight of the Day : Culross...
