"Had to" get up pretty early to day as I still had two hours of the podcast to record...

It looked like it was going to be a good day...

Coffee was required...

As I started, the sun was just about to pop up over the houses opposite..

Soon, it came...

With half an hour to go it was almost there,,,

...and by the time I was finished it was in full swing...

Breakfast...

..outside...

We noted a beast of some kind had pinched one of the things off the feeding station - the one the intelligent crow keeps taking off...

this is not the first time this has happened...

Hmmm...

At 10, ready for a wee shopping trip...

Over to Davidson's Mains, were there had been pickings last week..

Bought a dozen rolls on the way back...

...they cost almost as much as my 14 CD haul...

Here they are in all their glory...

Banging dance music from Cuban/American, Pitbull...

A couple of very nice soundtracks from Ennio Morricone...

Some South American club music...

A Sting LP...

Two from one of Turkey's biggest stars (over 40 million albums sold but unknown in the UK - apart from by those with Turkish connections)...

Some more Cuban music but, unlike Pitbull, a little more traditional...

The best of Angolan star, Bonga...

A classic from Dido - which I have only ever had as a CD-R - time to have the real thing, for 50p (as were all of these)...

Walking along from the Cancer Research shop, I made my way to Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland and picked up another four items...

A collection of Jazz Guitar...

A couple of blues things...

...and some chilled trance music...

I listened to a couple of tracks from each of these as the ripping marathon commenced...

Just after 12, it was time to head into town - noting this Robin on the feeding station just before we left...

Down the hill, to meet with niece Kitty...

She caught the same bus as us as we travelled to Haymarket and tasty pizza purveyors, Pomo...

I chose this beer - the waitress coincidentally was from its home town, Cagliari on Sardinia...

I regaled her with some tales of our holiday there 12 years ago for my 50th...

Here a couple of pics from our stay...

The pizzas today turned out to be even better...

Kitty was looking great as always...

We accessed this diary to find the Cagliari stories and then I found the first ever digital pic I have of Kitty, 31 July 2005, aged just 1...

The ladies had discussions about University, jobs, gap years etc etc...

...and the occasion was recorded...

...as were the (post starters of bruschetta for the ladies and meatballs for Mr CBQ) pizzas for the aunt and uncle...

...and gnocchi for the niece...

As I mentioned above, these pizzas outdid those from the waitress's home town...

Out and a bus home - the ladies looking good!

Once home, the ripping continued, as the clouds clouded over what had been a very good day...

In the evening, some TV watched as we started "Better Call Saul"...

Very good so far...

And also, an old thing on the Tivo, "Tin Star" - not so good but reasonable - although Tim Roth's acting leaves something to be desired and he sounds like a geezer out of "Eastenders"...

We finished the day with the film "Yesterday" - the one where something happens and all memories of the Beatles and their work is wiped out apart from for three people, one of whom learns them all from his memory and passes them off as his own...

Other items wiped included Coke, cigarettes, Oasis and Harry Potter...

Sounds like a good place to be...

Quite enjoyable...

Sack hit...

Highlight of the Day : Lunch with Kitty...
