A longer than expected walk and a longer than expected wait...

Playlist
Various - Cloudland Blue Eclectic Selection

Up just in time for breakfast yet again...

The Exec Producer was ready before me...

Not quite so sunny today but still promising...

I went for the fruit today - plus juice...

...toast...

...coffee...

..and, frankly, a too big full breakfast...

Anne was more sensible...

But, once again, this meant no lunch requirement...

Out and over the bridge and then, a walk along the river - our target, Burnsall, where we stayed last time we were here...

A couple of Chinooks flew overhead as we set out...

We reached Linton Falls - realising that what we saw a few years ago and thought was Linton Falls was not Linton Falls...

Oh well...

We crossed the bridge...

..and had a look around...

..before coming back over and heading on...

There was no clear view of St Michael's and All Angels' Church, yet...

...but we did see some cute rabbits...

Ever onwards...

..and, looking back, a view of the church at last...

We reached Hebden Suspension Bridge...

...which was very moveable under the weight of two people...

Over the side I...

Over the side II...

Still a mile to go and we were already 90 minutes into the walk - three miles ought to have taken us an hour...

Despite its movability, we still preferred the bridge to the stepping stone option...

We pressed on...

...noting duck families...

...a lone oystercatcher...

...leaves...

...fungi...

...cattle...

...some of whom seemed more tired than others...

...and more duck families...

..and still not at our destination after almost 2 hours...

...but the views were rewarding...

Finally, a sighting...

...and the bridge...

Almost exactly 120 minutes from the set off point...

We checked the time of the one bus heading back today...

...and decided to spend the next three and a quarter hours just doing nothing really...

Except enjoying a coffee and a toasted tea cake...

...the views of the river...

...the views of the village...

...visiting our old cottage...

...some tasty ice cream on the river bank...

..the views...

...drinks in the Red Lion - in the company of what sounded like four Channel 4 execs...

...and then waited anxiously for the bus, thinking there was a good chance it would not turn up...

...but turn up it did...

With a nice driver...

...who let us off closer to our home than the official stop, just 8 minutes later...

Some relaxing and then, dinner in the Inn - best nachos ever...

...followed by fish and chips...

..and some more walking...

Probably some football and some snoozing before lights out...

Another good day...

Highlight of the Day : A long walk and a bus home...
