Xmas Eve - quite possibly the best day of the year...

My soundtrack today, the 165 LPs I have received as Xmas presents over the years...

Out and down the hill once again...

The views this morning I...

I admired this shop window...

...and the tree I procured...

Headed home around 1, having made some last minute purchases, two of which were for me...

This for 50p - I have it already as a burn from the library - good to have the real thing though...

...and a great big book of some of the best photographs taken across the last 150 or so years...

Xmas lights on...

On Anne's arrival back, we watched "Santa Claus" - never seen it before and quite good all told - John Lithgow looked so young...

Then, as Anne made pate for tomorrow, the soundtrack continued...

I have received quite a lot of King Crimson for Xmas over the years...

I reminded niece Kitty that, tomorrow, it'll be 10 years since she took an Xmas Day header down the stairs - I'd stopped her crying by re-staging the incident for posterity...

Meanwhile, the presents were out...

...and it was time for our Xmas Eve dinner...

...skillfully prepared by the EP...

Yumtastic...

Greetings from the EP...

...and from your correspondent...

In tonight's "University Challenge", we beat both teams and achieved what must be our highest ever score - 190 - nine starter questions and twenty bonus questions...

Then, another film "The Holiday" with Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslett, Jude Law and Jack Black - heartwarming and funny, just the way an Xmas movie ought to be...

As the credits rolled, the EP advised she'd seen it already but had wanted to see it again so didn't say...

Very much enjoyed...

To bed just before midnight, excited like a child...

Highlight of the Day : All the good stuff of Xmas Eve...
