Road trip!

With stops, an eight hour journey South - the first stop being for (unpictured, tasty) breakfast (rolls and coffees) in Biggar...

...at Aroma...

Onwards, southwards and our next stop was the town of Chorley in Lancashire - merely because it was there when hunger struck re lunch...

It was pouring with rain and a local cafe was a welcome spot for a quick break and a BLT/toastie - plus more coffee for me (driving) and a tea (for a change) for Anne...

I wonder if we'll ever return...

Having set off at 8:23 and having visited Wales (I wonder how much money has been wasted on having every sign in Welsh and English? - much like the gross proclivity for stupidity of the Scottish Government re stuff in Gaelic in Albaland) for the first time (although we did not stop), including being very close to childhood football faves of Mr CBQ, Wrexham, we arrived at our destination around 4:40 in the afternoon...

Out for a first look around the picturesque market town on the Welsh border, Ludlow...

Almost first thing spotted was a record shop, Mod Lang which will no doubt be explored at some point...

More walking around and getting of bearings...

...which led us to the Blue Boar...

...for drinks...

...by the fire...

...under some interesting artifacts...

More exploring...

...took us...

...to the Rose and Crown...

...and, just as we were about to leave to investigate possible dinner destinations, who should pop in but Anne's walking chums Teresa and Mack the Black Lab, along with T's husband Christopher (no pics, yet) - also coincidentally visiting the town from Scotchland...

More drinks and good chat and then back to their place to drop off Mack...

...before heading for an extremely tasty Indian at recommended by Teresa and Christopher, Golden Moments...

An excellent evening, during which, this being our first ever meeting with Mr C, some introductory stock stories being bandied about and providing mucho entertainment...

We will meet again tomorrow...

Today's artwork, "Tins on the Wall"...

Highlight of the Day : On holiday...
