September gone - just a quarter of 2018 left...

Up at 6:15 and writing this and listening to and downloading, new music - what's new?

Today's new stuff, Zombie Picnic, Soft Machine, Oddsfiche, Saturn's Daughter and Snufmumriko...

A leaf through the great big book of Documenta 11 from 2002 - there was only one piece in the whole book that I actually recall seeing...

Out around 9:30, with the EP, post breakfast, to sort out a possible new phone scenario - for the time being, a new SIM and a better tariff achieved - for both of us...

Very good service from O2...

Some shopping including rolls for lunch (and my mum) and ingredients for a new dish Anne was going to try this evening...

Back home and more listening - with a view to whittling down the 200 recordings sampled over the last seven days to the 25-30 or so required for next week's podcast...

Some tidying in the attic, then, the first half of "Captain America : Civil War" on BluRay...

Enjoyable but rather a convoluted and pointless plot when it came down to it...

A visit to my mum - doing ok and looking forward to a few outings this week...

Home for the remainder of "Captain America"...

Anne was cooking this...

Spiced cauliflower and sweet potato bake with prawns
Recipe taken from The Doctor's Kitchen by Dr Rupy Aujla

Serves: 2

Ingredients

½ tsp turmeric
1 tsp chilli powder
5cm piece of root ginger, peeled and grated
6 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
2 limes, halved
2 shallots, quartered lengthways and peeled
300g cauliflower, broken into florets
300g sweet potato, cut lengthways into 2-3cm thick wedges
250g raw shelled jumbo prawns, deveined
100g spinach, finely chopped
Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper

Method

Preheat the oven to 200C / 180C Fan / gas 6

Mix the spices, ginger and 5 tbsp of the olive oil in a bowl and season with salt and pepper. Squeeze in the juice from the limes.

Finely chop the juiced lime halves. Spread them out in a baking tray with the shallots, cauliflower florets and sweet potato. Drizzle over the spiced oil and coat the ingredients well, then bake in the oven for 35 minutes, stirring halfway through to ensure they cook evenly.

After the vegetables have been in the oven for 30 minutes, heat the remaining oil in a frying pan over a medium heat. Add the prawns, season with salt and pepper and saute for 2 minutes, then turn over and saute for a further minute, or until cooked through. Remove from the heat, add the spinach, stir, and cover the pan for 1-2 minutes – the residual heat will wilt the spinach.

Transfer the tangy baked cauliflower and sweet potato to a serving dish, fold in the prawns and spinach and dress it with the oil from the baking tray

Here's how it turned out...

Extremely tasty indeed!

Kudos to the EP...

The aftermath...

...while I was mucking about with music as ever...

Late on, plumped on the 30 tracks for this week's programme, which will be recorded soon...

Then, yesterday's John Coltrane purchase which, coincidentally, was recorded on this very date 53 year ago...

Spooky...

Today's artwork, "Achieving the Aim "...

Highlight of the Day : Anne's cooking...
