Elsewhere, a plethora of music downloaded by new to me jazz pianist, Vijay Iyer, after a tweet alerted me to the fact that his latest, on ECM, is an album of the year...

As you might tell from the subsequent actions, your correspondent  was suitably impressed...

Meanwhile, I was going about the business of compiling my own albums of the year and uploading five six track music only podcasts to the Mixcloud to illustrate said choice...
