Another sunny day, possibly the sunniest of the trip...

Bircher muesli again for breakfast...

Then, to the U-Bahn and out to...

... the Killesbergpark...

..with its beautiful gardens, outlook tower...

...and, nearby, the late 1920's Bauhaus style architecture of the Weissenhof Settlement...

...which this, although attractive, isn't...

The park was created in 1939 for a garden show and has a small train...

...but was also used to house Jews on their way to the concentration camps...

...before being used again in subsequent Garden Shows...

...but, did I mention it has a train...

Despite the Nazi connection, this is a beautiful peaceful place now, with various memorials to those who passed through on the way to their deaths...

And so, up the tower...

...which, disconcertingly, moves rather a lot in the wind...

...but it's worth that discomfort for the incredible views...

The Porsche Stadion...

TV Tower...

Bismark Tower...

The beast was up a tower...

Back on the ground for some walking and exploring...

Beautiful gardens...

Modern art...

Fountains...

Trees...

...and goats!

...and alpacas...

...and more goats...

..and chickens...

...and pigs...

...and flamingoes...

...ducks etc...

...etc...

Back through the Weissenhof...

The Exec Producer and the Beast under a Box...

Back to the Hauptbahnhof...

...and a walk all the way up Königstraße - today was Ascension Day so all the shops were shut in honour of Jesus returning to heaven...

The kebab shop was open though and afforded extremely tasty veggie wraps for lunch...

Back on the train, gong now in the opposite direction...

...alighting at Untertürkheim from where a bus took us to the Rotenberg...

...and the Württemberg Mausoleum...

..which overlooks the town of Rotenberg

...and provides excellent views out across the countryside...

In the distance, the tower climbed this morning...

This wee monkey was on hand to entertain...

The memorial was built for Catherine Pavlovna of Russia (1788–1819), the second wife of William I of Württemberg (1781–1864). The remains of William and of his daughter Maria Friederike Charlotte of Württemberg (1816–1887), are also housed within...

Despite the apparent sparsity of attendance, the place was, in fact, mobbed...

Last looks around and outwards before descending the hill...

The Germans do like a Wandertag...

Back into the city...

..and to Marienplatz, where people were standing in long queues for ice cream...

We preferred beer...

...and more beer...

The guy sitting reading the paper had a prime spot next to us, occupied for a good two hours whilst sipping a single Coke...

Tonight, we could not resist a return visit to Onkel Otto's Schnitzel Paradise...

The EP was extremely excited...

We sat outside - more drinks...

...and more schnitzel, Anne also partaking of a salad from the salad bar...

This was noted over the road...

For our final constitutional, we took the U-Bahn to the centre again...

...and a last walk around this excellent and much recommended city...

Sadly we didn't get a chance to visit the Staatsgalerie...

...or partake of the impromptu dancing lessons taking place there tonight...

The opera, ballet and theatre all eluded us too...

...as did the house of history...

Not to worry, the beers and schnitzels were top class...

Back through the main square...

Past the Kunstgalerie...

..and up Königstraße once again...

...and the U-Bahn home...

All over bar the shouting...

Highlight of the Day : Sightseeing at opposite ends of the city...
