Xmas day and, as ever, up super early...

And then the wait for Anne to surface...

Busied myself creating compilations by Dave Brubeck and by Cream which I owned in the past and listening to Xmas records which, once Anne was ready, accompanied the 2015 opening of presents, which was, with some considerable restraint, preceded by a reasonably leisurely breakfast (which stops me eating too much chocolate early doors)...

I had not seen this - it is Anne's favourite acquisition from Santa...

In addition to this, several modern ballet DVDs joined the fray, four from the Saddler Wells collection and Wim Wenders' 2011 film on Pina Bausch...

For my own part, some interesting books - the Julian Cope collection is a great read - like me, he is a fan of really early Alice Cooper and Grand Funk Railroad, as well as, of course, being a Krautrock afficionado...

The Alternative Jukebox is a "list" book of around 500 "extraordinary tracks that tell the story of alternative music" - I have the majority of them, so a new playlist beckons - but, truth be told, there's nothing as alternative here as in the Cope compendium...

The paintings is another list book - 1,001 in chronological order with notes on each - just my cup of proverbial tea...

Then, two books featuring the original Alice Cooper band - bassist Dennis Dunaway's biography and Michael Walker's behind the scenes reports from the three tours in '73 which set the benchmark for everything that was to follow in the live rock sphere - The Who, Led Zep and, of course, the Coopers' "Billion Dollar Babies" tour...

A new kitten mug...

Excellent CDs by John Grant and Spock's Beard...

A speaker to use on holiday, instead of putting my phone inside a vase...

...and, following the mortal wounding of my white Fuji at the Rheos' concert in Toronto in the summer, another new camera - which I've used for all but the first couple of shots in today's entry...

Well done the Exec Producer!

Out in the garden, the birds got something they like...

Merry Xmas the birds...

Out to Penicuik for a visit to Sheila and Andrew...

Lovely tree (and lady)...

Young Ali was also in attendance and liking the new towels received as an engagement present from...

...his Gran'ma...

Cassie the Dog was unimpressed...

Ali's fiance Julie loves socks...

...and the lovely couple do take a good selfie...

...Senior avoids pictures when he can...

Sheila and Senior are heading down to Yorkshire tomorrow for a few days with their caravan to see Andy and Tori and wee Dougie - turns out Ali is driving down for the day, returning in the evening, so we've decided to tag along for the day, having nothing else planned...

Post agreeing arrangements for tomorrow morning, a drive back to Edinburgh and picked Anne's mum up for the short trip to Jane and Bobby's...

...where Olly and Kitty were on their usual top form...

Olly has gown up so much in the last couple of years, it's almost unbelievable

Kitty wanted to show me all her presents...

A colouring book...

...and, it seemed, enough cosmetics to sink a battleship...

Rafa the Dog seemed pleased with his new jumper...

...and Olly loved his new Hearts top...

Xmas decorations were to the fore all around the house...

Another splendid tree...

...including a wee man from Niagara on the Lake...

Kitty loves Xmas...

...and Jane and Bobby love to cook...

A superb array of unpictured hors d'ouvres (including Jane's home made pate) was followed by Goose with all the trimmings...

..and home made roulade...

...and, just in case roulade wasn't your thing, this tasty Santa...

Olly assisted his Granny re her own recording of proceedings...

...while Anne and Kitty perfected their dance routines to Justin Bieber and One Direction...

Kitty was quizmaster for "Family Fortunes"...

...and captured her old uncle on her instamatic camera very nicely indeed...

Home around nine and some reading of new books before turning in for tomorrow's early start...
