Up early...
I don't throw away our cat calendars, just wait till they re-synchronise and enjoy them again...
The view from the back office this morning...
...and from the front office...
Not working, though I ought to have been...
Instead, wasting my time on further organising the music on the iPhone (last 60 or so acquisitions), iPod Touch (200 prior to that) and iPod Classic (further acquisitions going back around 13 months)...
Then, out to post orders and obtain provisions for breakfast and lunch...
While Anne painted...
...we were waiting for this...
The wonders of Forex...
Meanwhile, I re-organised the books in the back room...
...then made my way into the loft, post a request on Twitter to upload pictures of any sci-fi items I might have up there...
While these are currently dormant...
...these contain said SF books - and a good deal more of the reading stuff variety...
I located around 60 - so, here we go...
Firstly, disappointed to only manage to locate 9 of the 11 ERB John Carter of Mars books...
Missing are the first, "A Princess of Mars" and the sixth, "Mastermind of Mars"...
Missing are the first, "A Princess of Mars" and the sixth, "Mastermind of Mars"...
...and from the Venus series...
...and a couple of Heinlein classics I remember reading back in the day seem also to have disappeared - just off the top of my head, "Friday" and "Job"...
The Asimovs seemed present and correct, though there are so many Asimov Robot and Foundation and Empire titles, it's difficult to be sure...
A few collections of Dick's short stories...
Arthur C Clarke - of course, eventually, he took it too far...
These next four are about man-made flying saucers and Nazis escaping to the South Pole after the war...
Despite that, they were, at the time, extremely imaginative and entertaining...
It seems I didn't notice a fifth in the series being published in 1999 - 30 years after Harbinson wrote "The Running Man" - but not that running man...
This (spoiler alert - read the book not the Wiki synopsis) is possibly my favourite SF book...
Not sure if these count...
..or these - three in one - read...
...and singles - never opened...
Meanwhile, this afternoon, both Hearts and Queens won away from home, at Ross County and Livingston respectively - and both now sit at the top of their leagues, unbeaten thus far...
Wonder how long that will last?
Hopefully Brodski's Alloa can dump Brodski's The Rangers tomorrow...
Later, found the entire Tubes gig from Hamburg in July on Youtube - and watched it all over again...
A cheeky wee Indian, with a starter each and a main between us, nourished, as we enjoyed this documentary on the (then) 35 year career of Rush (now 40 years)...
What a quite brilliant band they are...
Post that, writing up this and liking the newly reorganised back room - though it probably doesn't look any different to the untrained eye...
A good, if uneventful Saturday gone...
Highlight of the Day : Old books, Rush and the Tubes...

Amazed at the number of SF books. You can set up your own charity shop anytime. Do you think you've got a collecting addiction And you are so tidy. I am obsessive about my hair, the weather and the computer,(just in case there is anything new there). At least it's not detrimental to health.
LOL there may well be something "wrong" with me re music but all these SF books were bought back in the 70's and 80's. I'm sure Anne would disagree re my tidiness. Keep obsessing - it exercises the mind...
