Posting orders at lunchtime still left time for a quick visit to Fopp to pick up these little beauties for just three squid each...

This evening, a walk along to the East End of Princes St for a meet up with the boys from Creek, Craig, Duke of Sutherland, Count Brodski and The Sultan of Kelso, Mr Cobblers, who takes much better pics than these...

Some food and drink at Chinese Buffet Specialists Jimmy Chung's before heading to the Electric Circus...

...for tonight's performance by Manchester nu-jazzers, GoGo Penguin...

A superb set based around their two albums to date, "Fanfares" and "V 2.0" which had earlier soundtracked the day...

But why oh why must punters talk all the way through pieces before whooping and hollering at the end of said pieces, as if they'd actually been listening to them?

Two young ladies right next to me were the worst culprits, along with one of their number's boyfriend and the other's brother - all just having met coincidentally tonight - see how much you can find out by being forced to listen to pish, despite a hugely amplified and brilliant three piece jazz group playing just 10 feet in front of you?

And, as for beardy foreign guy just over my left shoulder fawning over his girlfriend, chatting about all sorts of shite to her all night and even, at one point, taking a phone call on his mobile?

I despair...

Drinks afterwards with Creeker Craig having headed off into the night and Cobblers, Brodski and I joining also in attendance at excellent gig brother in law Keith and his stepdaughter's boyfriend Murray in a nearby hostelry...

Then, to Waverley Bridge around midnight for an airport bus home...

Stu can handle any number of cameras but couldn't figure out how to take a selfie with his phone...
