Back on the wagon post Xmas and NY, this being the twelfth day of Christmas and all that...
Accordingly, post continuing the back up which had been running all night – with the help of Meg the Black Cat...
...it was out early to do the “Tesco Walk”...
This resulted in the purchase of flowers for Anne and three hopefully entertaining DVDs to watch, “Puss in Boots” (mistakenly not the “Shrek” related version), “Bridesmaids” and “Johnny English Reborn”...
On my return, I found Meg had finished off the back up...
Breakfast, during which the postie delivered the latest album by fave singer songwriter Dar Williams – no time to listen straight away though as it was a walk down to the zoo...
...and the bus to Haymarket...
Tram coming along well...
A further walk through the Grassmarket...
....to the music library – Dr Prog otherwise indisposed – everything borrowed last week returned and new stuff borrowed – two discs by Mogwai, a 5CD box of Ligeti and a brilliant 2CD live set by Chick Corea & John McLaughlin...
Tasty, as they say...
More walking – to the North Bridge and a light lunch (panini and coffee) at The Black Medicine Company...
....followed by a quick browse in Blackwell books before walking all the way back to Wester Coates to catch a bus home...
I took an airport bus from here so I could have a quick look in Guitarguitar at the bottom of Crispycat Hill before joining Anne on the 26 to the top of the hill...
Around nine miles walked in total – but I am way behind target after the Xmas/NY break...
We listened to the new Dar album before heading back out, this time in the car, to Sainsbury, where Meg also earns royalties...
...for the weekly shop...
...including stuff for Anne to bake tomorrow...
On the radio we heard Queen of the South had gone a goal down and had a man sent off within the first 20 minutes at home to Arbroath...
No need to worry though as, despite these handicaps, they came back to score five times in the second half to win 5-1 and hit the 50 point mark...
Unbelievable...
Further tastiness later on re pasta for tea...
...during the prep for which, this was much enjoyed...
...and then we watched the entertaining Johnny English DVD...
We surfed the net and then started watching “Pirates of the Caribbean III” – have recorded the end of it as we were falling asleep – even though it’s rubbish...
Highlight of the Day : New Dar Williams...

Cat royalties? Nice idea.
Sadly, Meg doesn't let me "administer" them...
