Did some work which now escapes me...
Drove to South Queensferry
for breakfast, having found the place we wanted to go to, which is on the way to
SQ, to be closed...
The place where I played a few summers ago is now closed down, boarded up and deserted...
Back in Edinburgh, the rivettingness of 2013 continued with visits to Tesco, where Meg the Black Cat is earning some royalties...
...and
to both B&Q...
...and Wickes re items required to unblock our kitchen sink...
No luck with that and I came home leaving Anne to continue
the search – which ended with coffee at Lynn ’s
house – her son has a supply which he uses for chemistry experiments...
Meanwhile, I was in the attic looking for headphones which
will allow me to listen to music when I retire of an evening – my previous pair
having bitten the dust a couple of weeks back..
Many sets found and tested and one seems ok...
Watched Twyla Tharp’s “The Catherine Wheel” – hard to
believe it’s over 30 years since this was put together – or rather, easy to
believe when you look at the quality of the filming and the computer techniques
being used in the piece compared to what can be done now...
There was, however, no getting away from the quality of the choreography, or the skill of the dancers, all of whom must now be in their mid fifties...
Anne returned half way through...
Spent (wasted) some time sorting out my collection of classical
CDs re the conundrum of exactly how to file them...
Spent (wasted) some time compiling a list of current faves
based only on the last 100 discs acquired...
Watched episode five of six of Michael Portillo’s
entertaining “Great European Train Journeys” which featured Switzerland and
made us want to take a train holiday...
An Indian Takeaway was enjoyed followed by the movie “Tower
Heist” on DVD – very enteraining...
The rest of the evening was spent updating stuff, surfing
and listening to music...
