Finalised the compilation of 50 of my favourite albums of
the year and posted it here...
Listened to my album of the year, The Bad Plus’s “Made
Possible...
Anne didn’t enjoy being woken by that so headphones were
returned to...
At 11:15, with Anne slumbering again, I settled down to
watch the annual New Year’s Day concert from Vienna ...
By the time Anne eventually surfaced it was around 1 pm and
she’d missed the orchestral delights...
To my mum’s around 2:30 to wish her a Happy New Year...
She was out till 1:30 with chums and so didn’t appreciate a
drunken wrong number babbling about “the bairns” at 3:45...
She agreed though, that it was funny in hindsight...
I sorted out her drinks cabinet...
Then off back over to sister-in-law Jane and Bobby’s for a
quick happy New Year visit – when I arrived Anne was already there as was her
mum...
A drive down to brother-in-law Keith and Maureen’s where
Maureen’s family was gathering for a New Year’s Day walk round to a party at
neighbours Ishbell and Rod’s place – where Keith and Maureen’s wedding
reception was held back in the summer of 2008...
Shoes off...
A good time had with good company, good food and good drink (although I was on the Diet Cokes) and even a piper...
Around 9:30 we called it a night though, with neither Anne
nor I feeling 100%...
Took Anne’s mum home and watched a bit of telly before turning
in...
First day over...
Highlight of the day : New Year’s Day party...
