Cloudland Blue Quartet - Starlightnight
A tough, tough day today...
I knew it was coming...
My sleep is rubbish right now - up everyday around 5am and, to divert my mind from matters arising, to the PC to tweak the new LP...
This morning, I wrote the final lyric and recorded what, barring any later on decided upon and deemed necessary re-recordings of sub-standard performances, will be the final vocal...
I was glad to get it finished before this afternoon's meeting at the hospital...
Sister Sheila joined Anne and I in our discussions with Pam's Oncology Specialist...
Pam has not been progressing as well as the neurology staff had hoped, although her seizures now seem to be under control....
A fresh MRI scan has shown that the tumour has progressed and so appears immune to the new chemo...
So, understanding that more chemo - which, truth be told, Pam is not well enough to undertake right now - will almost certainly be ineffective and will only impact negatively on Pam's quality of life whilst also increasing the likelihood of infection based on reduced immunity, it will not now be applied...
Pam was due to be discharged from the hospital soon, in order to have her chemo in the comfort of the Marie Curie Hospice in South Edinburgh, just 10 minutes drive from our mum's house...
She will now go there without the discomfort of undergoing any further chemo...
Gladly, Pam is comfortable and not in any pain at present and I visited her with Anne and sister Sheila after the meeting....
She was bright and cheerful as usual and, for the first time since being at the Western, she was fully dressed, and lying on top of her bed rather than in it...
I made a return visit later this evening to find her old schoolchum Janice by her bed, the two of them having enjoyed a scan through the latest gossip magazines...
The world turns on...
And so we hope to keep Pam laughing and smiling - my dreadful jokes and double-entendres seem to be especially enjoyed...
A tough, tough day indeed...
Highlight of the Day : Time spent with my courageous wee sister...
