Non-recognisers of a lonely heart...

Playlist
Cloudland Blue Quartet – 2011 Album
Jon Anderson – New Orchestral Opus
Yes – Fly From Here

Up super early and to work on the new LP...

New lyrics, or rather re-worked lyrics, new lead vocals and new mixes on three of the songs...

A new mock up mocked up and tweaks to the sleeve to allow it to join the other eight CBQ albums produced since 1997 on the sofa bed...

Out into a reasonable day...

...and to Dr Prog’s for midday for our trip to Glasgow to see Yes tonight...

The journey was soundtracked by the latest demo of the LP, about which Dr PRog was very positive – and a new 20 minute magnum opus with orchestra by now non-Yes vocalist Jon Anderson...

Parked near the SECC and took the train into town...

Where a Chinese lunch was so large that no further sustenance was required for the remainder of the day...

Record shops were, of course, visited...

Fopp – a 90’s dance music compilation and as tasty jazz album from Kenny Dorham were partaken off...

That’s Entertainment – albums by Kesha (due to her recent duet with Alice Cooper) and the Divine Comedy were joined by a 2CD best of Marvin Gaye and 3CD compilation of Electric 80’s hits...

As you can tell, I was buying stuff for the sake of it or the most flimsy of reaons...

To Missing...

....nothing bought...

A coffee at Esquires...

....where the young ladies behind the counter had never heard of Yes but gave us a 20% discount for being able to entertain them with an accapella duet of “Owner of a Lonely Heart”...

And so, on to the Armadillo for tonight’s concert...

A two and a quarter hour set was much, much better than our expectations – with four songs from the new LP getting an airing (including the 25 minute title track) along with some positively surprising choices from the band’s extensive back catalogue...

Dr Prog and I loved it...

As for these two guys – either they’d done a lot of travelling today or the music had put them to sleep...

All over...

An hour’s drive to Castle Brodski, where Anne, Alan and Penny had enjoyed an Indian meal and much chat while Dr Prog and I were progging out...

Coffee and chat ensued before we took Dr Prog home and returned to Crispycat Towers to a welcoming Meg the Black Cat...

Highlight of the Day : A diverting day with Yes live much better than expected
