The naïveté of the debutant...

Playlist
Sparks – Singles 1972-2009 (3CD-R)
Various – My Favourite 30 Artists (MP3 CD)

Started the day by expanding Bobby’s Sparks compilation to a three disc set for myself, encompassing all 60 tracks I could find listed on the net as having been released as singles since 1972...

Post breakfast, around eleven we set off on a trip to Tyndrum on the road to Glencoe...

We were meeting up with chums Sid and Debbie who, this weekend, were set to climb their last “Corbett” and last “Munro” in the same day and had invited around fifty people to accompany them...

Our first stop was Callander...

...where the Exec Producer availed herself of a nice new blue waterproof jacket while I shelled out £4 at a cd fair in the town for not very good CDs by Mott the Hoople “and friends” and “Fuse One” – a supergroup of sorts of jazz fusion stars...

We enjoyed a tasty pie each from the Mhor Bakery, lunching down by the river...

On to Killin, where we parked at the far end of the town and walked back to the Falls of Dochart to enjoy the views and a coffee...

Then the final leg up to Tyndrum and checked in to our B&B which was around a mile and a half south of the main part of the town...

We walked part of the West Highland Way...

...to the main hotel where most of the party was staying and enjoyed a couple of drinks and got to know a few people – some of whom were horrified by our lack of equipment and we were soon supplied with people’s spare poles, gloves and waterproof trousers...

Ah, the naïveté of hill-walking debutants...

As darkness fell, we walked back the way we’d come and called it a night, not really looking forward to tomorrow...

Highlight of the Day : On holiday, sort of...
