As with most of the days this week, since the onset of the lurgi on Monday afternoon, I was up early due to being unable to sleep...

No visit to the gym though – not been since Sunday...

These things often last a couple of months with me but I’m hoping this bout will not take such a long time to shake off...

Breakfast at home followed by a trip out of the house, necessitated by the threat of fines on my Music Library borrowings...

Drove to town, picking up Dr Prog on the way – we parked below Arthur’s Seat and walked to the library...

By the time I exited, bearing albums by Kiss, Aphex Twin, Haydn and a couple of 16th Century composers, I was in no fit state to continue with our usual Saturday coffee and banter shenanigans and, post a speedy equalising of our respective outlays thus far on our upcoming London trip...

....I exited stage left back to Crispycat Towers...

Spent the afternoon listening to this delightful new music – Aphex Twin gave me some ideas, Kiss was OTT pop-metal and the classical stuff filled me with well-being...

On the footie front, Anne was witnessing Hearts secure their “top six” place by beating Kilmarnock 1-0, while Queens went from being a goal up at home to league leaders Inverness to losing by three goals to one, with yet another sending off...

Elsewhere, two years on since Queens despatched Aberdeen from the Scottish Cup at Hampden, an even bigger shock today as Ross County, who needed a 90th minute goal to take a home draw against a ten man Queens in midweek, dumped the mighty Glasgow Celtic out of the cup by two goals to nil...

...deservedly so, based on the highlights witnessed later this evening...

Also on TV tonight, a Tivo'd "Have I Got News For You", featuring a Hitler-moustached Richard Herring was mightily funny, a Tivo'd "Jonathon Creek" entertained and the second in the new series of “Dr Who” was deemed “pretty good” – and next week sees the inevitable return of the Daleks...

Tasty...

Highlight of the Day : Ross County, Giant Killers...
