Today we were off up to the Island of Luing to see our chum Birgit and her partner Norrie (aka the poet Norman Bissell)…
We left Edinburgh just after 2pm and stopped off for a break a couple of hours later at the Crianlarich Hotel for coffee (to keep me awake) and a scone (to put me to sleep)…
Then back on the road, arriving in Oban around 5:15 and on through to the Cuan Ferry half an hour further on down the coast…
We were due to meet up with Count Brodski and the lovely Penny but they were nowhere to be seen – we did however meet with Birgit at the ferry, she was on the way home from her craft and woollen shop in Oban…
Turned out the Brodskis were on the other side of the sound, having caught an earlier ferry…
We were staying in Norrie’s house and were soon settled in…
Birgit provided a superb evening meal of lasagne and salad and the beer and wine were flowing to full capacity…
As was the chat...
After the long drives though we all retired around 1:30 or so…
