Finally got up to date this morning re this diary...

Drove to Patisserie Florentin for a couple of croissants for a late-ish breakfast...

With the help of sister Pam in Hemel Hempstead, sorted out the ability for Anne to watch non-terrestial broadcasts of footie matches on her netbook...

Invited Mr Peri Urban to accompany me should my upcoming performance be given definite confirmation – he kind of knows all the songs already having done the remastering and I’ve now provided him with lyrics and chord sequences to give it a go...

We’ve not played together live since 1985...

Started sorting out the four jukeboxes – deleted quite a bit of classical stuff and added various artist compilations to that box – etc etc...

Played through some of the songs including the new one – sounded worse than yesterday...

To Anne’s mum’s for tea – interesting around the table chat re the merits of gay sex – prompted by our visit to Manchester...

A variety of opinions...

Then, out to the offices of a fund manager on Princes St on the 6th floor directly opposite Edinburgh castle for the annual close of the festival fireworks display...

People come to Edinburgh for Hogmanay but those fireworks last for around 5 minutes if you’re lucky – this was a whole hour set to the wonderful music of Mr G F Handel...

An excellent view...









...followed by a bus back to the car at Anne’s mum’s and up home...

Fell asleep during Joanna Lumley’s programme on cats...
