Spent most of the morning updating the diary re the holiday – just a few days left to do now – hardest was the Manchester Pride day – was all set with loads of pics etc when the PC crashed and wiped the work – v frustrating...

Buoyed by my soundtrack though, which comprised Macclesfield Craig’s discs by Bon Iver, Sweet Billy Pilgrim, Band of Horses, The Panics and Ed Alleyne-Johnson...

Abandoning this with two days of the holiday plus the rest of this week to go, I began a run through of the proposed set but decided to rewrite some of the chord sequences for the new song...

Then of course I had to record a wee demo version – it’s now around a minute shorter and all the better for it...

We drove to Fife for 2:30 to watch the Scotland v Macedonia World Cup Qualifier at Sky’ed up Chris-with a Ch’s place – with his step-dad Jim, Mr Ferret and a new Craig, also from the Exec Producer’s “The Man” scenario...

Chris insisted on wearing his Celtic Tartan kilt...

A rubbish first half, a couple of missed sitters in the second and some great saves from Craig Gordon were followed by two Scotland goals – a header from Scott Brown...

..and a round the keeper and slot into the net after dribbling from his own half by James McFadden – great goal...

...rather badly illustrated...

Much drinking (probably too much) and carousing took place all afternoon and into the evening while your correspondent enjoyed some cans of Pepsi-Max...

We were down to four and headed to the nearby pub to meet Chris’s girlfriend Gillian for yet more drinking...

Anne and I finally called it a night around 9:30 and headed home via the chippy and ended the day with a taped “Reaper”...

Highlight of the day : James McFadden’s goal...
