Up early, as ever at the weekend, and adding to the Jukebox, those “rock & pop” CDs from the “Last 100 Living Room Shelf” which aren’t on there yet...

Breakfast at home, accompanied by Kenny Burrell's "Midnight Blue", then we drove over to Fife to Chris-with-a-CH’s to watch Arsenal v Liverpool on his very big TV – he is a fervent fan of the Gunners...

The TV's a lot larger in real life...

After lunch and the first half, I left them awaiting the arrival of chums Competitive Dave and the Fonz and drove to Stirling to see Queen of the South, accompanied on the trip by a Pet Shop Boys compilation which Chris had burned for me this morning...

The game wasn’t the best I’ve ever seen and ended nil-nil, although Queens were the better of the two teams – perhaps they had one eye on next week’s semi-final at Hampden...

Drove back to Chris’s, hearing on the radio that Hearts had also drawn nil-nil, meaning they would finish in the bottom six for the first time in fifteen years – meanwhile, Chris’s favourites, Celtic, were thrashed 1-0 at home by 10-man Motherwell...

The Arsenal game had ended in a draw and Competitive Dave's faves, Airdrie Utd had been pipped as the Second Division champions by Ross County and so, all in all, it was disappointment all round as I arrived back at the flat and met the Fonz for the first time...

A Dennis Pennis DVD entertained, then I gave the guys a lift to the nearby pub and Anne and I headed home...

Half an Indian takeaway each followed by “CSI : New York” and “Law & Order” and it was all over for the day...

Highlight of the Day : Watching Queen of the South in action
