Playlist
Up at seven as work was to start at ten...
...not my work though, that started at seven...
Today would see the return of Ross the Decorator...
The hall awaited...
The view from the office, as I got this up to date, writing four entries...
Breakfast...
My eggs were complemented online, while my toast was adjudged to have been slightly "well-fired"...
I like it crunchy...
It was Tuesday and, once again, I did not get the podcast done...
But I did line up a few more boxes...
Box 138, from Phronesis to Return to Forever...
I chose first in the box, Phronesis...
“Life to Everything” (2014) a live LP by one of my favourite jazz trios. It’s been 8 years now since their last LP...
However, all 3 members have been active in their own right since - Jasper Høiby, Ivo Neame & Anton Eger...
Search the band, search the members. You won’t be disappointed!
Box 139 (today's box), from Buddy Rich to Terje Rypdal...
This time, I chose guitarist Kurt Rosenwinkel...
This 2003 album is less "jazzy" than I'd have liked but was still enjoyable...
...all played with skill and precision...
Meanwhile, in the real world, work had commenced on the hall...
Ross was off to a good start with the removal of 40 year old (at least) woodchip...
Meanwhile a lunch with chum Luke was booked for 3 weeks' time...
...and, post lunch, I retired to the back room to do nothing except listen to the next 3 chosen CDs, Piano Circus and Bill Bruford...
Phronesis...
...and then, back at the work station, Kurt Rosenwinkel...
...and I was back up to date, as I finally was too, re the project to post my daily playlist to BlueSky - posting up the last thirteen days in one long session...
Next thing will be to get the CD Box postings up to date - as I write tomorrow morning, I am twenty-eight days behind with that particular stupid project...
Ross left just after three o'clock, having succeeded in almost fully stripping the hall...
The banister too, also a stalwart of over 40 years, is gone...
I sawed it in half in the back garden...
Another trip to the dump beckons...
Our German friend Jorg once pulled it off the wall by mistake, when climbing the stairs with a very dodgy leg...
This led to the often used over the last 40 years catchphrase "Don't touch the Geländer"
No more...
Back to work...
...including listen to a superb new creation from chum Mr Skiesrblue, in his guise as Obsidian Celestial...
He cannot play an instrument, as far as I'm aware but has used his free time to create a kind of heavy metal masterpiece using AI...
Many would frown at this but there are many who certainly could not create what he has done...
Hmmm...
The debate continues...
As does that re whether to file music media, books and DVDs, chronologically (and alphabetically), from right to left...
...or left to right...
And dicks on BlueSky trying to pick a fight re my postings, following the revelation that Southampton have been booted out of the Championship play offs for spying on their opposition, a flouting of the rules...
My take?
"Meanwhile, in Scotland, Celtic fans carried out two pitch invasions in a row following late goals in their final 2 matches: Neither game able to be restarted. Authorities reaction? “Fine, just carry on”…
Pathetic..."
"Comparing apples & oranges isn’t going to make you feel any better about Celtic winning the league."
"Comparing and calling out whether governing bodies shit themselves about a football club they are supposed to regulate does though…"
"Yes ok, you keep believing that Celtic were helped to the title.
It’s not going to change a thing!"
"You keep believing they weren’t...
Same… Nothing will change…"
Whatabooterie too, from another party re recent pitch invasions by Dunfermline and Kilmarnock supporters...
The point not being understood, is that the Celtic invasions were during the game, causing both games, effectively, to be abandoned, the sanction for which, under the rules, is for the game to be awarded to the opponents 3-0...
But, hey, who cares about the rules in Scotland...
Certainly not the footballing authorities, as they are run by the two big Glasgow teams…
e.g. 10 years of systematic cheating? Not one honour rescinded. Nothing to see here...
Says it all…
Anyway, that's enough football. It is, after all, just a game and matters not one jot in the gig scheme of things...
To bed at midnight...
Highlight of the Day: Having a man in, to do stuff we couldn't do (properly)...
