New Music Friday...
Downloaded around 36 LPs, only later to find that the track numbers had not been tagged so it all had to be done again..
But, of course, post breakfast...
All the new stuff, with all tracks merely in alpha order, was on the Samsung phone though so, at 9:45, took Anne to the Gyle to meet with Lynn, before I headed to the gym....
...for some "running" on the cross trainer and more leg presses...
Home and finalising all the new music from this morning then, working on the new LP...
A new cover, a new title and new track titles...
I chose 10 pages of the book via a random number generator and took a line from each page as a title...
Put together, they add up to a very short story, of sorts...
Cloudland Blue Quartet - Across the Landscape
"A fragile object moves across the landscape, seeking a signal, untitled.
Dark for a long time, in the tone of a sentry, the first time after winter, it will swallow the plateau.
The night archer looks out at the world from inside the jaws of a wolf, condemned to non-existence, evaporated like air, taking the side roads."
There will no doubt be some further tweaking but plenty of time, as the next available release date is Friday 3 July 2026...
Remaining German sausages for lunch as no sign of Anne...
Then, a message to pick her up from Lynn's...
Made my way round and in for coffee and home made carrot cake and good chat with Lynn and Ross...
Home and Malcolm's lyrics had arrived...
He further advised via text...
"Hey my friend, glad you received lyrics okay and you appreciate them.
I have also been recording a lot of film/documentary stuff etc on this phone - about 5hrs of stuff - it's not the films that are important as such but certain lines I would like to use as cut ups - God bless William Burroughs - lol.
And yes am aware 5hrs of material will be whittled down to 5mins"
Looking forward to working on this...
Then, to listening to tracks from all the new stuff into the collection - as ever, mostly top notch and, unlike other weeks, nothing needs to be deleted...
Meanwhile, Anne was concocting a top lamb casserole for tea...
It was Friday...
#CDFriday - for which I posted these pics without listening to any of them...
The rest of the evening was mostly spent on TV - "Alan Partridge", "Have I Got News For You", "Taskmaster"...
More listening - managing to sample every one of the new acquisitions (see below)...
Prepped the last three entries here for writing up tomorrow (which is what I'm doing now on Saturday morning)...
Bed at midnight...
Highlight of the Day : Anne's casserole...
