Playlist
Another big playlist today...
But I'm not sure what this is...
Up at 7...
...for the Luna routine...
Later, she was sunning herself on the window ledge while I researched debut LPs released between 2010 and 2014...
Then, she was relaxing at the top of the stairs as I continued to listen to music I'd forgotten about or never heard before...
Welcome to week 44 of 2025...
At 10, to the dump...
Here is the first (digital) picture I could find of "The Shelf"...
These were taken on 11 January 2006...
T that point, the CD shelf contained my acquisitions numbers 4,134 - 4,236, from August 2005 to January 2006...
Since then, literally thousands of CDs have graced "The Shelf"...
Today at 10, end of an era...
But, you know, life goes on...
I continued listening while Anne gardened...
I chose 20 singles from box 2 of 5 of my remaining 7"ers...
The Damned, Deodato, DAF, Thomas Dolby, Bob Dylan...
Dave Edmunds, ELO, Eno, Falco, Bryan Ferry...
Focus, Free, Genesis, Gentle Giant, Gary Glitter...
Francoise Hardy, Roy Harper, Hawkwind, Steve Hillage, Icehouse...
They remain in a wee pile on my desk, having not yet been spun...
This afternoon, Luna said "hi"...
...as I dug out a few of my faves involving drummer Jack DeJohnette, who has died...
I enjoyed the Hudson disc via the CD Player. It’s sterling stuff. Thankfully, Keith Jarrett’s deeply annoying “singing” is nowhere to be heard on any of these…
More music from DeJohnnette and, indeed, Terje Rypdal was also sourced today...
Outside, where I did not venture, the sky was good...
Late afternoon the final song choices arrived for Sunday's session with the band and I put together a setlist of 20 songs - all 6 of everyone's choices involved...
Which means of course that some songs were chosen by more than one of us - the faves being "Boys Keep Swinging", "The "In" Crowd", "Brown Sugar", "Virginia Plain" and "Rock'n'Roll"...
A download of the setlist was provided to John, John and Keith to bone up for Sunday...
Baked potatoes for tea - I may have overdone the peas (fresh tomatoes and spring onions underneath)...
Tasty nonetheless...
On Telly tonight "Mastermind" and "University Challenge" - 110 points...
Also, the first of 4 programmes on the space programmes from the late 50's onwards...
It featured the story of Ron McNair, one of the first African American Astronauts - he died on Challenger. He was was to have recorded a saxophone solo in space, to appear on Jean-Michel Jarre's "Rendevous" LP...
The piece, with the solo played by a French saxophonist, closed the day...
Poignant...
Lights out...
Highlight of the Day : Listening...
