Up and to the podcast...
...only to discover that one, just one, of my links did not record last night...
So, I prepped everything else and waited for Anne to arise...
Welcome to week 41 of 2025...
Breakfast...
...then recorded the final link and put everything together and uploaded...
Almost 24 hours later as I write this, just 2 listeners so far...
But, this comment from one of them...
"Excellent. I hear so many things that are new to me"...
Job done...
With that out of the road, we drove, with the previous cutlery, over to the place to where we often donate household stuff...
Into Lidl on the way back - here's some of the stuff we got...
Includes super-big gherkins, superb German mustard (which was hidden away in a corner away from all the other mustards for some reason), super hot jalapenos...
Yum..
A couple of "FBI"s accompanied lunch, with two more new Lidl acquisitions, the rye bread and the Bavarian smoked ham...
Late afternoon, Anne was off to Pilates and I got this back up to date...
I also compiled a list of debut LPs from the years 1980-1984 - I got up to nearly 100 and then whittled them to these, which are, for me, the best of the selection...
Yes, there's a poll underway on the Blue Sky re debut LPs - the last one was the five years from 2000 - 2004 - the five I voted for?
These...
Not a single one made the 30 strong cut to get through to the next round...
It matters not one jot though as, as you know, the only list that counts, is your own list...
Also, this afternoon, an aborted attempt (nothing was saved) at a new "Variations" LP, this time based on four suitable tracks from Eno's "Another Green World"...
Oh well...
Baked potatoes for tea on Anne's return - mine (unpictured) with added German mustard and jalapenos...
I listened to new music during the first half of "Mastermind" but tuned in for the General Knowledge round - I was not on fire...
Then, the annoying (because I'm no good at it) "Only Connect"...
But, tonight, somehow, I was good at it...
The same cannot be said for tonight's "University Challenge", where we slumped from an impressive 165 last week (unreported at the time) to a paltry 60...
Oh well...
Ended the day upstairs, listening to Miles Davis' stellar band at the Cellar Door in 1970...
I only have a burn of the WAVs of the set, borrowed years ago from the library, but it sounded just fine and dandy on the SMSL player via the AKG 702's (my best listening experience of all in the house)...
Bed at midnight...
Highlight of the Day : German Mustard...
