...after being awake at 4:30 and listening to the whole of today's podcast...

Looked through this at each of the 5 Novembers from 2005 to 2024...

Which was interesting (for me, anyway)

Post breakfast, sending out notices re the 35CD scenario - some will no doubt be gone by the time we get to Whitby...

Then, thought it best to try out the lead purchase a while back for the performance so, set stuff up in the back room...

...and managed a performance without cue sheet - sadly, not recorded for posterity but, suffice t say, it went well...

Towards the end of the set, the engineers arrived to install Full Fibre Broadband...

Just a pit that the router is still yet to arrive...

An hour long phone call to TalkTalk re that established that (hopefully) our old internet will remain running until we plug in the new router...

Managed to convince them to send out another one - we'll see what happens...4

In the afternoon, Anne had the opportunity to p;lay pickleball and so, off she went, leaving me to fall asleep watching a couple of episodes of "Continuum"...

On Anne's return, we enjoyed one of the saddest films I've ever watched "A Man Called Otto" starring Tom Hanks...

Lovely...

I had something in my eye at various points throughout...

Then, while Anne baked an Aubergine Parmigiana...

...some listening...

So very tasty!

...followed by "University Challenge" from last night , the LSE thrashing Leicester - while we managed 130...

Tried out the film for Saturday...

All good...

Prepping a couple of CD packs which won't no be going to Whitby...

...which is good...

Watching the start of the US Election coverage...

Which was not good...

Of course I fell asleep...

To bed at 1...

Crispycat Latest Release

Between 1980 and 1995, Sombre Reptiles released 35 LPs. At present, all of these albums are deleted. "Songs of the Sombre Reptiles 1980-1995" is an 81 Track Virtual 6CD/10LP Box Set covering this pre-Cloudland Blue Quartet period. The versions of the songs included in the Box Set are taken from eight sources, recorded between 1993 and 1996: The three long deleted volumes of "Songs of the Sombre Reptiles", originally released on cassette in 1993 and 1994 via Edinburgh Record Shop, Reptile Records - all but 3 of the 57 tracks from these three records are included; Further album tracks from the final four Sombre Reptiles records, "Galleryshard (1993), "Kernelcrux" (1994), "Bitter Sweet Covers" (1995) and "Starcrossfix" (1995); Previously unreleased re-recordings from 1996, just before Sombre Reptiles became Cloudland Blue Quartet.

Cloudland Blue Eclectic Selection

In a one-man crusade to encourage the world to broaden its musical horizons, David has been broadcasting a weekly Eclectic Selection of music from across his vast record collection since 2014. On the programme each week, you'll hear 25 Tracks, kicking off with David's LP of the Week, followed by his six other LPs of the day, three or so CBQ, or CBQ related, tracks, a single of the week (if there is one), a couple more singles (if there are any) and a further eclectic mix of other things new into the collection...
