Terrence McManus - Music for Chamber Trio
Up to find that Americans (or just over 50% of them) re bat-shit crazy - but then I kinda knew that already...
Much wringing of hands around the world but nothing we can do except try to make the best of an absolutely awful, evil job...
Anyway...
It was, as almost ever, early...
Writing this up for the weekend - or was that yesterday? Yes, probably did that yesterday...
Today, listening to my four volumes of homemade Glam! first thing...
Then, a couple of the tasty jazz things downloaded last night...
Breakfast...
Anne was getting ready for Zumba with Lynn as I set off down the hill with my "big" headphones on, listening to another jazz album from this morning's haul - Darius Jones - new to me and top...
I was quite a bit of the way down the hill when I realised I'd come the wrong way...
Not to worry...
Scenes...
Meanwhile, our router was in London!!
Rolls and a TV magazine secured, chazzas visited (no purchases), and back home...
The CityFibre boys have made a better job of getting their signal into our house...
...than whoever did this to the twins' house...
More "Continuum" being watched...
Anne returned...
Our router was going to be delivered shortly - to where exactly, remained a mystery...
...as it was still in that London...
Another hour on the phone to TalkTalk asking that a third router be sent out (the one supposedly ordered yesterday has not yet been actioned) and that it be ensured it is sent quickly and to the correct address...
The postie arrived and provided a printout of our parcel's details...
The house number was correct...
The city was correct...
The Postcode was correct...
But the street was shown as "Montagu Road" - there is no such street in Edinburgh - but, on googling this, I found there is one in London N18...
So - TalkTalk erred re the address and, frankly, why did Royal Mail make the error of judgment when faced with an obvious address error, to send a parcel with Edinburgh as the location and an Edinburgh postcode on it, to London?
Anyway, now a long wait for a call back from Syed from TalkTalk's complaints department...
Into the garden...
...for Anne to get some vegetation off of the garage roof...
At four, word from Royal Mail, trumpeting their delivery of our router to an address four hundred miles away...
Nice picture...
In contrast, three items ordered from Amazon yesterday - a new Cat Diary, a pocket diary for Anne and adapters for me re Whitby, were all delivered perfectly as predicted...
I had the idea to try and get in touch with the people at Montagu Road - I could see they've lived there since 1988 but could not find a phone number...
But, on the map, there was a hairdresser a few yards from the house in question...
I called - a lady answered - I tried to explain but she couldn't understand me and just kept saying she'd not received a parcel and that she had "people in her chairs"...
I let her go...
Shortly afterwards, a call from Syed - he had put in a manual order for an expedited router delivery which he hoped would arrive tomorrow or Friday...
This was the best they could do really but, as I write this at 8am tomorrow, I have no e-mail re the new delivery...
Fuck and, indeed, sake...
Anyway...
Anne had once again excelled herself in the tea stakes, with marinated chicken, vegetables and lovely, lovely potatoes...
...all of which softened the router blows...
Anne enjoyed "Portrait Artist of the Year" while I retired upstairs and decided to play this...
...which took me back to this here diary, trying to find where I bought it - Bad Reichenhall I think - no Traunstein - on our way from Konigsee to Erding - it happened on one of those picture only days, at the end of our Bavarian trip in September 2020...
Hmmm, already four years since were were last at Konigsee...
Anyway, then I decided to play a few tracks from my collection of collections...
Started with this...
...and a few more, before, inevitably, returning to the computer for ease of accessing the music...
From 8:45 till midnight, these 54 beauties were indeed accessed - one track each...
...which made for a very enjoyable and relaxing evening...
But, you know, I predict no router tomorrow...
Lights out...
Highlight of the Day : Playing the comps...
