Up and admiring yesterday's handiwork...
Other scenes...
The beast was about its business, reflected in a dark window...
Frosty...
It was, once again, new music Friday...
Highlights were...
A good comeback from pariah, Marilyn Manson...
Top notch new jazz from MUSICMUSICMUSIC and Alexi Tuomarila...
New to me jazz from Karl Onibuje and old jazz from Joe Henderson...
New to me guitar improvising from kÖök...
The soundtrack of, currently being enjoyed on Prime, "Cross": Season 1...
Remasters from New Order...
Live albums from Goose, Umphrey's McGee and the 21st Century Schizoid Band...
Extended Pet Shop Boys...
The new Joan Armatrading...
...and piano miniatures (two different versions) from the pen of Martin Torp...
This last, sent me off to listen to this year's piano LP by yours truly, "Dissolution IV", which soundtracked breakfast...
Anne was off to Zumba...
Me?
I finished off "Continuum" with the penultimate and last episodes of the 42...
An enjoyable and reasonably happy outcome after all the trials and tribulations...
In all, a very good treatment of the perils of time travel...
Today's Haydn Symphony was No 61 - rousing...
For #CDFriday, I was on the cusp of gathering 10 or 12 of the CDs spun over the last seven days...
For example...
...in fact from this pool of just 26...
But after all the hassles and time spent gathering the group last week, in the end, I chose these from the most recent end of the Living Room Shelf, a couple of which don't appear in the playlist above as they were spun only on the CD player or at a point where iTunes was not yet once again recording plays on my phone...
On Anne's return, lunch and "Cross"...
Anne was raging about non cleaning of the roadside on our street while that right next to it, with no trees nor leaf blockages, gets unwarranted service...
A strongly worded e-mail to the council...
Quite right...
An over £50 electricity bill re my mum's house - for a period in which no-one was living there...
Power companies and their daily standing charges eh?
And they sent it twice, once to me and once to my mum...
Power companies eh?
Anyway, post Cross, another new comedy thing - "Intelligence" - GCHQ versus a hopeless American from the NSA...
In all, today, probably 5 or so 20 minute episodes enjoyed...
Late afternoon, to starting to sort out the "Rock & Pop" wall...
As with Classical and Jazz, the CDs will be spread out to ensure space in each box for any new arrivals...
As you can see, I have 17 empty boxes at present (as a result of moving the compilations to a wall unit of their own)...
Anyway...
A lovely curry from Anne...
The new "Death in Paradise" Australian spin off was good - although I fell asleep and missed the denouement - but caught up with it on iPlayer upstairs later while Anne enjoyed "Coronation St"...
Also tonight, "Have I Got New For You", hosted by Lorraine Kelly, for whom I admit to having a soft spot...
Oh well...
As mentioned, back upstairs and some King Crimson related listening and further downloading of a few more things because I just don't have enough music I've not listened to...
To bed post midnight, as Anne was watching "A View From the Terrace" - tonight's episode without nephew Craig...
That was it...
Lights out...
Highlight of the Day : Continuum - a kind of happy ending...no, wait, Anne's curry...
