Just before 6 on a Monday morning and I'm back at the machines...

...with my trusty new chair alongside me...

The diary was up to date but, once again I have lapsed and am writing this on Wednesday morning...

A message from Joe Higham on Twitter (the work of whom, with me, which will be released next month, had coincidentally soundtracked the start of my day) advised he was hoping I'd be giving Jane Birkin a spin today re her untimely demise at just 76, yesterday...

I duly did - her most famous work is good but the ensuing LP not so much, re her vocal delivery...

The 1973 LP with Monsieur Gainsbourg is much better...

And I also took possession of a couple of Gainsbourg solo efforts along the way...

Then, I resurrected the work I kind of started on Saturday, when Creeker Stu was popping by...

...before a healthy, no bread, breakfast...

More work throughout the morning with Annie out shopping...

By midday, two tracks completed and a link to a WeTransfer of them was sent to my Creek colleagues...

None of the three downloaded them...

Oh well...

Lunch, soup and rice...

Then, decided to bring the CD player back to the room with the machines, from the room with the CDs...

I couldn't figure out where to plug it into the amp...

...until I realised the lead I'd previously used was actually still plugged in...

The post moving situation...

Machine Room...

CD Room...

I'd also swithered about moving "normal" height box sets into old CD storage units brought back down from the attic - to the point where I filled a couple up but, in the end, decided against and merely slightly rearranged the sets...

Much of the afternoon was spent trawling through this diary from January until now, noting all bacon bringing home work scenarios for which I now need to bring home some bacon...

Doing this led to the listening to tracks from 11 LPs I'd forgotten about re all the pics of "Today's New Music" on the six months or so of entries...

Which was good...

It also led me to find a veritable plethora of annoying spelling mistakes...

Which was bad...

...and which I couldn't be bothered going back to change but which has made me vow to properly read entries before pressing "publish"...

Also this afternoon, while looking for a candidate for LP of the day, I investigated youngster Nessa Barrett and found I liked the melancholy of what I heard....

On downloading her work, I found I already had one of her LPs!

Idiot!

A collection of tracks from her many singles was also manufactured....

With Anne out at Pilates, I was once again on Baked Potato duties...

...including my filling concoction, which was a super tasty mix of lentils, spring onions and chili flakes...

...which, on partaking of, with my potato, put me in mind of the glory days of Dave Bann's "The Baked Potato Shop" on Cockburn Street - now, sadly, gone...

On another note, I am perversely enjoying the amount of work it now takes to do the dishes and keep the new kitchen spick and span (apart from it needing to be painted)...

Some telly enjoyed today included the 3rd of "Crime" and the 2nd of "A Spy Among Friends", the acting in the latter showing up the not very good acting in the former, though both are v enjoyable...

Late on, a Tweet from Mr Tom Hull alerted me to his latest reviews - here - which then led to the downloading of 7 new to me items...

His missives are always worthy of a read re his succinct reviews of new stuff...

My final act of the day was to upload the pics you see on this entry and to record today's playlist...

Machines down...

...and lights out...
