1st thing, started recording the podcast without having recorded the links, as Anne was still sleeping...
Outside, squirrels were gamboling...
Once Anne was up and, after having finished recording all the music and having breakfasted, I recorded the chat and got things ready for editing...
Just before 11, we were off out and over to Anne's mum's...
After some sorting out of meds, washing etc etc, along the road to The Hampton...
...for lunch...
...then, back to her apartment to pick up some cake and hang up her washing, then, back to ours - soundtracked by my "Bacharach & David EP"...
Mary was humming along to it...
Coffees, said cakes and chat followed...
...and a look at all my CDs...
I took her home and, as she had mentioned having taken piano lessons as a kid "for years", we went into the lounge at her complex and I sat her at the piano...
And so, for the first time in probably around 70 years or more, Mary Fowler was playing the piano - as soon as she sat down she remembered a tune she used to play but not the title...
A lady in the room shouted out "Believe Me, If All Those Endearing Young Charms"...
It was indeed said tune, written by the Irish Poet, Thomas Moore...
I didn't get any pics, sadly, but I did record the performance...
It has a bit of a Gavin Bryars' "Jesus Blood Never Failed Me Yet" feel about it...
New LP out soon...
Back home and putting the podcast together and uploading...
And Fang popped by and stayed for ages...
Tortilla and egg salad for tea...
...accompanied by two more "The Lincoln Lawyer"...
...and Fang...
Late on, we ended up watching a strange film, "Crazy Rich Asians"...
...which was, nonetheless, entertaining and brought our Saturday to a close...
