Entertained first thing by an old podcast from, if I recall correctly ( I may not) 2017...
Nope, it was 2019...
Anyway, here is the beast, ready for action...
Post some initial compiling of the possible line up for this week's podcast, we set off to Roseburn to park and to walk to Haymarket for a slap up lunch...
The tree in front of which I photographed Anne and Lynn on Friday has started to be decorated by, I think, schoolchildren, using old CDs...
Sacrilege...
When we had Reptile Records, we'd go our once a year at Xmas for a meal and charge it to the business - it became known as the Reptile night out...
And this was the Reptile night out for 2020, albeit taking place in the afternoon...
And so, to the Omar Khayyam for a late lunch at 2:30 - we were the only people in...
The tray of goodies which came with the poppadoms was v tasty indeed...
...and much enjoyed in a private dining stylee...
Starters too were excellent - both of us opting for kebabs...
...while the Korai mains (chicken tikka for the EP, lamb for me) were top notch...
All in all, yum tastic...
But the way in which this lockdown is being applied is utter nonsense and is destroying businesses like this right left and centre...
Far better to stop people from meeting up in unregulated homes than in regulated restaurants surely?
Anyway, a walk back to the car in the gathering gloom and home to no tea of course...
Evening listening was the playlist for the weekend...
Wednesday over but a tasty one, if tinged with some measure of regret about what is happening to our fave restaurants around town...
Highlight of the Day : Lunch with the EP...
