A rainy start...

...but out in any case...

...past the Bismark monument...

...to the stadium of St Pauli...

...and a look around their shop...

Being a reasonably intelligent Scot, I especially liked "love football, hate nationalism"...

They have an amazing array of souvenirs...

...but we did not partake as far as I recall (I am writing this next March!)...

A walk towards our favourite part of town...

...past Kitty's bar - I sent her a pic...

To the big market...

...and the nearby food market...

We did not buy an umbrella...

...but we did enjoy Frikadellen...

...followed by...

...beers...

Back at the record shops, more 3 Euro purchases...

A 4CD set of banging electronica...

...and a 20 track classical disc based on banging electronica...

Over the railway and back to...

...Zardoz, for more bargains form the front door display...

Then a walk through the neighbourhood and its funky shops...

...before heading back...

..to our fave coffee shop...

...this time, sharing a cake...

We bade farewell - we might not be here again before we go...

This accidental pic of the road outsdie Zardoz will become the cover of this year's edition of  "Disquietmusik"...

To the Reeperbahn...

...and a further walk down to the port...

...before returning to the apartment for a rest...

The purchases were piling up...

For a very small outlay at the nearby grocery store, we got wine...

..beer...

..and topped up our coffee supply...

Tonight, back to the Elbphilharmonie for some string quartets...

Pre performance talk...

Ready to go...

Half time...

We frankly, had to move, due to the use of phones, opening and closing of water bottles and general complete and utter lack of etiquette around our initially chosen seats...

Down the front for the second half was much better indeed...

Wonderful string quartets, composed by Weinberg and played by the Danel Quartet from France...

Followed by another tastydinner at Luigi's, although we did have to wait an inordinate amount of time to get a table - worth it in the end though...

Home, very much satisfied....

Another excellent day...

Highlight of the Day : String quartets...
