Up early while Anne slept and inspecting acquisitions thus far...
Outside, it looked like it could be a nice day, weather-wise...
And so, breakfast in the garden...
...under good skies...
Out just after ten...
...up past the church...
...for a walk to the centre of town...
...and the chamber of commerce...
..and mightily impressive Town Hall...
...including its interior...
Field recordings were made...
Then, further walking and exploring...
...including prospective shoe shopping which came to naught...
These reminded us of Jorgo Sonnenschein...
A new bag for the EP was secured here...
...while your correspondent got something he liked, nearby...
...in search of art...
We decided to fork out for Baselitz, Richter, Polke and Kiefer...
Anne reckoned Baselitz could get in the sea with his nonsense...
...including his upside downers...
...which me and this old guy quite liked...
Then, my favourite living artist, Gerhard Richter...
Anne's favourite was the tiger...
She wasn't taken with Newschwannstein though...
This is one of my fave pics of the trip...
Here, Anne is trying to stop me from taking too many pictures...
Eventually, she relented and the snapping continued...
...while listening to the informed commentary on matters...
On to Sigmar Polke's work...
...including "Potato Machine - Apparatus Whereby One Potato Can Orbit Another" from 1969...
The gallery was packed with people being educated...
Finally, the work of Ansem Kiefer, including his "Heroic Symbols" series...
An excellent quartet, despite Anne's earlier comments on Herr Baselitz...
Bags were collected...
...final looks were taken...
While nothing was purchased from the shop, Anne found the Tiger picture...
...in a Richer book...
Time to leave...
We made our way over the road to the Freie Akademie der Kunste but nothing enticed...
Coffee and cake did though...
...as it started to pelt down outside...
Eventually it eased to the point where we could venture out again and we started the long walk back to the apartment...
...via the old warehouse sector...
...and the route originally taken from the tram on the first day...
Home, just under seven hours after leaving...
After a rest, it was out for dinner...
..and we found ourselves at Luigi's pizzeria...
...for two of the biggest, tastiest pizzas ever...
A constitutional was required down along the river bank...
...before heading home to relax and get ready for tomorrow....
Another good day in that Hamburg...
Highlight of the Day : A quartet of artists...
