Following a tasty lunch with chum Stephen at Forage and Chatter, a flying visit to Anne's mum's new apartment - looking good - to pick up the car and then a drive through to Glasgow and my first visit to Mixed Up in Otago Lane since last October...

These in their £1 CD section....

...were soon in the boot of the Cloudland Blue Mobile...

Yowsah!

A drive over to the Barras on the East Side of the city to meet up with Dr Prog...

We were here to see Tangerine Dream perform this evening but were still a little early...

So we made our way to the Val D'Oro Fish and Chip shop - Glasgow's oldest - for fish suppers - Phil's adorned with a slice of bread and butter and a cup of teas, making it a "Fish Tea" - an early birthday treat for tomorrow's birthday boy...

Excellent...

And then the owner, with his stories of ice cream making and Paul & Linda McCartney enjoying one here on their way to the Mull of Kintyre back in the 70's, led to us each enjoying one of these on the walk back to the venue...

On the way, we stopped off at St Andrew's in the Square...

...for a very good coffee and some chat...

As we emerged the light was fading...

To the venue, the so-called BAaD (Barras Art & Design)...

Wrists stamped and in we went...

An ambient set was underway from support act, Finnish DJ Ida...

At around eight fifteen, the stage was set...

Mr Schnauss snuck on to the stage to set up his laptop...

Ten minutes later we were underway for almost three hours of non-stop electronic music of the top notch variety, for which your correspondent and his prog loving chum were a couple of fanboys down the front...

The trio of Tangs were joined half way through by Brandt Brauer and Frick's Paul Frick, on piano and synths...

There were a goodly number of recognisable themes and tunes from across the group's fifty-one year discography, although, like the Ship of Theseus, all parts of the group Tangerine Dream have been changed since their initial outings back in 1968...

A very satisfying chunk of the show was improvisational material, the last of which must have comprised the final 45 minutes or so of the performance...

The mics on stage were used only for the group to talk amongst themselves and, at the end, each shouted out the name of one of their colleagues...

Bows were taken...

And it was all over...

Out into the night, to the car and the drive home...

During which we passed into the Doc's 63rd year...

Happy birthday tomorrow Dr Prog...

Highlight of the Day : Tangerine Dream...

Some really good pics there, not sure I could make through a full TD gig without either drugs or popcorn.

Those would certainly have helped!
