Awake at 4 am and listening again to Roger Waters, to whom I'd fallen asleep around 1:30...

I had a moment of clarity...

I realised that his latest LP is his ultimate work and, just like the sun is eclipsed by the moon, so the work of Pink Floyd is eclipsed by "Is This The Life We Really Want?"...

Continuing loading music into my phone...

Went shopping at 8 for breakfast stuff ...

Anne was up by the time I got back and we had a fry up – so no lunch needed...

Breakfast was soundtracked by Miles Daviss - following a Twitter discussion re his best LP - for me, today, it was this...

At midday, with the phone reload finally complete, I drove to Roslin for band practice with a 12:45 kick off...

I was super grumpy with my band mates re mistakes etc etc...

This was half time...

At 2:50...

Chloe carried out some impressive gymnastics, which Paul couldn't see...

Keith couldn't believe his eyes, while Stu captured my reaction...

Tea, coffee and flapjacks accidentally without flour, were enjoyed...

...and boots were worn...

Back to work...

In all we recorded all 185 minutes of the session, we were knackered by the end at 4:45...

To Anne’s mum’s at 5:30 for the last ever family tea at the house I’ve been visiting since 1980...

13 people in attendance – as usual I sat next to my fave (unpictured) niece, Kitty...

She showed me all the pics from her dance show...

Final pictures...

The shelf in the dining room where we used to put nephew Craig, now 32, when he was under 5...

This, the dining room, which was once Anne & Jane's shared bedroom...

The hall, where many a game of dangerous football with small children was played...

The kitchen, where so many Sunday family teas have been prepared over the years...

Here's Mary pretending to fall down the stairs...

...and here's her not doing either of those things...

End of an era...

Home around 9...

Unpacked my guitars and equipment – then listened to music but not today's playing, not till that is just before retiring - the two songs I heard were surprisingly good...

Lights out...

Highlight of the day : Rehearsing, despite, in the end, unwarranted fraughtness...
