A very long day, soundtracked by a track a year from my recently compiled list of "albums of the year 1967-2018"...

A quick breakfast at McDonalds before hitting the road...

Heading up the M1, we hit tailbacks and decided to take a detour along the coast route...

...which led us to Amble...

...and Warkworth...

...and our erstwhile cottage...

...and on to Alnwick...

 ...and Barter Books for lunch...

After which a straight drive to Loanhead for a pop in to my mum - where I showed her all the holiday snaps and, once again, sorted her TV...

All told five hours on the road...

To Jane and Bob's for family birthday (for me) tea...

A very tasty Indian, from the Guru, produced much debris...

A choice of cake ensued...

Home around 8:30 to sort stuff out...
